Amtrak #27, the Portland section of the "Empire Builder", is on its final lap into Portland Union Station as it heads down the BNSF Fallbridge Sub through north Portland.

The view is from the top deck of the Interstate 405 Fremont Bridge across the Willamette River, courtesy of Providence Health Services and its annual Bridge Pedal bicycle rally.

The "Empire Builder" runs in separate Portland and Seattle sections west of Spokane, Wash. The Seattle section includes two sleepers, two coaches and the train's diner, while a sleeper, two coaches and the lounge car go to Portland.
