A Silver Classic...

Former CB&Q dome-sleeper-observation "Silver Solarium" was an integral part of one of the most famous trains of the streamliner era, the "California Zephyr".

The 1949-vintage Budd car, fully restored and operational under private ownership in California, is teamed with sister CZ car "Silver Rapids", a 10/6 sleeper originally owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad for transcontinental service from New York to the Bay Area. The two cars are on the rear of Amtrak's L.A.-bound "Coast Starlight" as it makes its Vancouver, Wash. station stop.
