CANADIAN PACIFIC 4-4-0 FROM THE NORTON ENGINEHOUSE

Canadian Pacific A2q 4-4-0 144 built in 1886 is prepared at Norton to start the morning mixed train to Chipman, New Brunswick. A water tank was built into the wall of the single stall enginehouse but coal was only available at Chipman. The station where the wood baggage-coach combine is waiting is out of sight not far behind 144's tender. It is hard to believe I took this faded slide in the middle of the 20th century -- the scene could have been taken in the 19th century.
