CANADIAN PACIFIC 4-4-0 AT THE NORTON ENGINEHOUSE

Canadian Pacific A2q 4-4-0 144 built in 1886 is blown-down at Norton in preparation for taking the mixed train to Chipman, New Brunswick. Two other 4-4-0's were also in use on the branch from Chipman because the bridges on the line could not carry heavier power. The three 4-4-0's worked the branch for a half dozen more months and all have been preserved. They were among the first and last steam locomotives owned by the CPR. At 144's pilot can be seen a bit of the bridge at the start of the branch to Chipman.
