MP 1 at "Kidders" on the MMA's great "Horseshoe" Curve, Searsport, ME

MP 1 at "Kidders" on the great "Horseshoe" Curve just a mile up the MMA's main line from the old Bangor & Aroostook yard and Penobscot Bay ocean port. The almost 180 degree, 2,600 foot long curve carries the line around the tip of Long Cove which separates Searsport from Sears Island. For more than a century and a quarter, the Searsport Yard was the southernmost point on the BAR's extensive system throughout Northern Maine. The MMA acquired the BAR in 2003.
