N&W Class Y6 2-8-8-2 with an auxiliary water tank entering the Roanoke yard from the east on May 5, 1957. I got this shot from 5th Ave./Park St. -- if you looked the other way today you would see the Virginia Museum of Transportation with its fine collection of RR equipment.
