New Crossing in Hampden, Maine

Literally minutes ago, crews pulled a new panel of track into place at the Western Avenue (Rt9 & 202) crossing of the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic. This is the scene of the truck/train collision earlier this year involving the Searsport Local with engine 8592 and a scrap metal truck that ran the lights. 8592 landed in the ditch at the right edge of this photo, and was more recently repaired and repainted in the maroon and gold colors of MM&A.
