Acela Expresses can sometimes look like ugly ducklings, especially when they are in a maintenance facility. In July 2000, while the trains were still undergoing testing on the Northeast Corridor, this unlettered set (but it was 2004-2005) was being worked on overnight at Southampton Street Yard, Boston.
