Electrics in Company

These two electric locomotives, even in their current unrestored state, still represent the century-plus reach of Pennsylvania Railroad traction.

DD1s 3936 and 3937 date back to PRR's 1910 third-rail electrification of its new line into Manhattan and the classic Penn Station. GG1 4800 is the class leader of 139 locomotives that are considered the most famous electrics in U.S. railroading history.

Both are currently stored in the "motor corral" enclosure at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, along with two former Amtrak electrics, E60c #603 and AEM7 #915.
