A Crusader's Tale (Tail)...

Reading Company coach-observation #1 has been restored to its original 1937 appearance when it debuted on the railroad's Philadelphia-Jersey City "Crusader". It ran in this service for more than 20 years before the Reading sold the entire trainset to Canadian National in the early 1960s.
The car is shown on outside display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. Its sister car, coach observation #5, also survives. It served for many years as the "Olympic" in the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train, and is currently part of Iowa Pacific's stable of passenger cars.
