Go WES, Old RDC...

Former Trinity Railway Express (TRE) RDC-1 #2011 will continue carrying commuters, just between Beaverton and Wilsonville, Ore. instead of between Dallas and Fort Worth.

Trimet recently acquired the car, along with sister #2007, for its Westside Express Service (WES). The cars were among 13 former VIA Rail Canada RDCs that initiated operations on TRE in 1996 and ran in that service until superseded by locomotive-hauled trains.

10 of the TRE RDCs also helped inaugurate service on another Texas transit operation, the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) "A-Train", from 2011 to 2012 until that agency's new DMUs entered service.

The remaining former TRE RDCs are currently in storage in Vermont pending the possible startup of commuter service there.
