Across One Bridge, Under Another...

Union Pacific C45ACCTE #5532 is the lead unit of three bringing a trainload of Canadian grain off the Columbia River drawbridge and into Vancouver, Wash. The train left the main at Vancouver Center interlocking and took the lead into the Port of Vancouver.

The new signal bridge is part of an extensive reworking of the Vancouver terminal complex. The projects include a new bypass along the east side of Vancouver Yard; a new main track directly into the Port from the Fallbridge Sub, part of which lies in a concrete trench under the north-south main; and a re-alignment of the Fallbridge Sub adjacent to the Amtrak station.
