VTR B&R (train) inaction -- Saturday September 27, 2014

"Big Coin" is the worker bee buzzword as the State of Vermont undertakes the second major weekend bridge replacement on the B&R in the last three weeks. The mainline was severed on Friday after the southbound train cleared the construction site here in East Dorset -- the "stranded" locos were shut down and stored for the duration in North Bennington at the station. The scheduled weekend project entails replacement of both abutments -- after which new steel decking will be strung by the massive crane astride the tracks next to US Route 7.
