International Railway Founder John Henry Pope's House

John Henry Pope, MP, was one of the principal founders of the St. Francis & Megantic International Railway, which became part of the International Railway along with the International of Maine. Later this was absorbed into the Canadian Pacific, and is now a major portion of the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway. His mansion still stands in Cookshire, Quebec, a short distance from the tracks.
