O, Christmas Tree...

Portland, Oregon's own steam star, former SP GS4 "Daylight" 4-8-4 #4449, was indeed all lit up for the season as part of the 2010 Holiday Express excursions sponsored by the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation.

The big Northern led two weekends worth of trips out of Oaks Park on the Oregon Pacific's East Portland branch, with the proceeds going to build a new home for the 4449, SP&S 4-8-4 #700, and all the other rolling stock that is vacating the old SP Brooklyn Yard roundhouse.
