A Really Great "View"...

BNSF dome lounge "Glacier View" shows off its "theatre" observation end while laying over at the railroad's Vancouver, Wash. yard with other cars from the BNSF executive fleet.

The car began life as one of six Budd "Great Domes" built in 1955 for Great Northern's "Empire Builder". After a stint on Amtrak, the car returned to the BN fold and has subsequently worn BN Cascade green and the road's dark green and cream executive train colors before returning to plain stainless steel.

Photographed by Thomas McCann, June, 1998.
Added to the photo archive by Thomas McCann, July 27, 2010.
Railroad: BNSF.
