THE NEW HAVEN'S YANKEE CLIPPER AT BOSTON SWITCH

Boston Switch is the junction in Central Falls, RI, where the 4.4 mile connector built by the Boston & Providence from its original mainline at East Junction joined the Providence & Worcester which had the first route from the north to the Union Depot on the Providence Cove. Thereafter both RR's used the route from Central Falls to Providence under a joint ownership arrangement. It later became the New Haven. The tower is SS 156 which closed in 1935 but still stands though soon to be razed. You can see the P&W home signal on the left side of the photo. I grew up not far from here so Boston Switch was one of my favorite train watching spots.
