Grand Trunk's Portland Maine Station in 1956

Canadian National 4-8-2 6017 is at the bumper on April 22, 1956 at the Grand Trunk depot in Portland, Maine. A CN U-1 Mountain type was the normal power on the Montreal trains 16 and 17. Steam would be gone from Portland in two months but an 0-6-0, 2-8-2 and 4-8-2 were in steam when I visited.

Photographed by Edward Ozog, April 22, 1956.
Added to the photo archive by Edward Ozog, August 1, 2009.
Railroad: Grand Trunk.
