Boston & Maine P-4-a 3713 in Boston after LAST RUN

On April 22, 1956 I rode the Boston to Portland round trip steam "Safari" and after the trip followed 3713 on foot from North Station in Boston to the East Somerville roundhouse to see her watered and coaled for the last time. Although some steam would operate out of North Station on commuter trains for a while the April 22, 1956 excursion marked the last "mainline" steam run. The 4-6-2 arrived back at dusk and there was barely enough light to get some long exposure shots at the massive coaling tower.
