D&H Canal Retaining Wall at Kimbles, PA

This massive stone wall was used to separate the D&H Canal from the Lackawaxen River at an appropriately named location called "The Narrows" in Kimbles, PA. Most of the wall has washed away from well over a century of seasonal floods (the canal was abandoned in 1899).

Photographed by Rich Kugel, December 6, 2008.
Added to the photo archive by Rich Kugel, March 3, 2009.
