A promise made...

Looking to your left you can see where the site of the future Train Station for the proposed Service of the Amtrak Downeaster. The train will make 2 stops here a day in Brunswick, Maine. There has been a lot of hype about this station and the promise of funding along with the expansion of the Downeaster Service from Portland to here. However from what I have read in the local papers about The Economy and the Governor’s budget cuts, I don't expect this station to come into reality any time soon. The Downeaster is suppose to be stopping here by 2010 well it's 2009 and I don't see/hear any work on the rails lately. Hopefully the warmer weather will bring better hopes to this service/station becoming a reality a little more Promising. Happy New Year!
