Station in Limbo.....

Looking through the gates you can see the site of the future Train Station for the proposed Service of the Amtrak Downeaster. Plans have been made to make 2 stops a day here in Brunswick, Maine. There has been a lot of hype about this station and the promise of funding along with the expansion of the Downeaster Service from Portland to here. However from what I have read in the local papers about The Economy and the Governor’s budget cuts, I don't expect this station to come into reality any time soon. The Downeaster is suppose to be stopping here by 2010 well it's 2009 and I don't see/hear any work on the rails lately. Hopefully the warmer weather will bring better hopes to this service/station becoming a reality a little more Promising. Happy New Year!
