Augusta Service. Frieght or Passenger? Let's get some:)

Hello this line is seen from Station Road in Vassalboro, Maine looking toward Augusta. This is not to far from where I grew up but never knew the road to this area exsited until last year. Pan Am Rail uses this line weekly to serve companies in Augusta. I was told this line sees frieght traffic about 3 times per week. The train still comes close to the Kennebes river bridge in Augusta and follows the river from Watrville to Augusta. No trains cross the Bridge in Augusta now, the flood of 87 took care of that. This looks like an old passenger platform taken out of use in the early 1960's. My father said he went on a school trip and took a train ride on this line from Waterville to Augusta back in the early 60's. I can tell you this around this corner the ties are in sad shape, the track bends and sinks in the ground, the River is on the right of the tracks. This line is also doubled tracked so a train could pass another if needed for traffice or use the track for a turn around. Ther are many signals on this line from Waterville to Augusta, however most of the signals are out of service until you hit Wislow and Waterville, This line Goes from Watreville to Brunswick and is still known in Maine as the "Lower Road" Walk on:)
