Worn frog

This is the frog in the switch in CP83 at Palmer, MA on the CSX Boston line. You can hear the pounding as freight goes over this at speed. In this shot you can see two successive dips worn into the point of the frog, and the corresponding wear in the wing rail where it starts to support the wheel tread in conjunction with the frog point.
