The new insulated joint

The new insulated rail joint in the switch at CP83 in Palmer, MA. At this point only one train has gone over the new rail, and barely even smudged the writing on the railhead. Two other points of interesting - if you look closely at the opposite rail you can see rolled onto it "132 RE CC BETH STEELTON 1985", which means it's 132 lb rail rolled in 1985. And on the new rail you can see enough to know it was rolled in 2007. No old recycled rail here!
