The Last Real Warbonnet Fs

F7A #347C and F3B #347D are the sole survivors of hundreds of EMD F units that have worn what many consider the most famous color scheme in railroad history -- the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe "Warbonnet". Once they handled the "Super Chief" and its sisters; now they sit in honored retirement at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento.

Photographed by Thomas McCann, June 12, 2001.
Added to the photo archive by Thomas McCann, November 5, 2006.
