All aboard for West Alton!

Such a cry has not been heard since 1935, when the Lake Shore RR last carried passengers along the same Winnipesaukee Shoreline now occupied by Route 11. Along the road one can still find traces of the old route--which connected Lakeport to Alton Bay--and this station (West Alton) is now a private home that is for sale.
