Empty CrossingThese once-busy rails in Laconia, NH carried passengers and frieght between Boston and Montreal during the glory days, and served the Laconia Car Company where thousands of new rail cars were made. Today it's a quiet crossing except for the occasional tourist train, and grass grows in the few remaining sidings. These rails still connect Boston and Lincoln NH but the main line from Plymouth NH to the VT border has been removed. The State of NH owns the right of way.
