Running around

The daily job that passed east through East Side Tunnel in Providence, R.I., and over the Seekonk River Movable Bridge started its real work in East Providence. These tracks were the main, a siding, and the wye connector - which the crew adapted as a makeshift yard. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays they would have to clear up for the Bristol Local, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for the Philipsdale local. The same crew did both jobs. The dyes in the negative have shifted after some 50 years. Ca. 1954.

Photographed by Leo King, 1954.
