Another "Gem in the rough" 2

"Big Al" Galanty hangs on to the nose of the 0401 as it passes the 2685 at SX shop. The 0401 was acquired from the LIRR which had been using it as power car #618. Unlike many of the other FA's and EMD F's which the LIRR was using as power cars, the 0401 retained it's model 244 prime mover and main gen. Many others had theirs replaced with Caterpillar units. This made the 0401 a prime candidate for preservation AND future restoration.
