Captured U-Boat

The restoration begins on our "22 cent" locomotive, CR U25-B 2685, nee NH 2525, seen along side the VRR shop at SX. In July, 1985 we were alerted by David Williams that the 2685 was sitting in the dead line at Altoona, barely 2 weeks away from getting the torch. Howard Pincus fired off a letter to Stanley Crane, then President of CR, outlining the significance of, and reasons why the CVRM would like to acquire it.

Photographed by BandAfan, August 8, 1987.
Added to the photo archive by Carl Weber Jr., May 7, 2004.
Railroad: CVRM/RMNE.
