Sitting & Ready For Action!

A Maine Track Maintenance Tamper sits on a spur that runs behind Pine State Trading Co. in Augusta, Me. The line on the right is the Main line and will be used again for frieght. The old Statler paper mill acroos the Kennebec River is suppose to be re-opening after closing and laying off over 400 people. The last owner named the Mill American Tissue, During Maine Coast operations on the Lower Road, they ran a train to East Augusta where GRS took over and did the switching. Service across the bridge was restored in March 2000 and then terminated shortly thereafter when MC lost the contract.I have some pictuers of a GRS train coming to the East side of Augusta coming soon! 35mm burned onto Cd.
