Snowbound for the season

The Crawford Depot overlooks snow-covered tracks that are home to cross-country skiers, hikers, and the occasional moose. But, as the sign at Mt. Willard's trailhead warns hikers: "ACTIVE RAILROAD! DO NOT FOLLOW TRACKS." While the snow flies, these rails are only dormant, not dead.

Photographed by Mike Colclough / Black Cat Images, December 31, 2005.
Added to the photo archive by Mike Colclough, January 7, 2006.
Railroad: Conway Scenic.
