MEC 7797 for My 797th Picture on NERAIL.

While most of the unpainted former CSX four and six axle Dash 8's that were sold to Pan Am still looked 'tattered' in their worn out paint, MEC 7797 still looks pretty good with the updated clean YN-3b paint.

MEC 7797, like almost all of the Pan Am owned six axle Dash 8's made it to Bow at least once between both coal and limestone trains that ran intermittently from late November 2019 until March 2023. 7797n was the middle engine on this loaded coal train on December 17, 2019 with 5974n leading, 7835s trailing by the Ferry Road Crossing in Bow. We'd see 7797 one more time, in the spring of 2020. 7797, along with 5974 and 7835 are now owned by the Berkshire Eastern.

These days, the 32 year old Dash 8-40CW, has languished for several years, out-of-service, in East Deerfield Yard, and is now owned by the Berkshire & Eastern. 7797's exhaust stack is covered over, perhaps a very slight sign 7797 could see service again..

It's true that paint does not pull..
