Alco FA-2 1051, resting at the Dewitt shops, was built in 1951 but gone by the mid-60s likely used as trade-in credits for new GE U25b locomotives. NYC L-2d 4-8-2 Mohawk 2933, delivered by Alco in 1929, still exists on display at the Museum of Transport at Kirkwood, MO. And barely discernible in this capture is record setting Empire State Express 4-4-0 #999 (112.5mph in 1893), coupled to the Mohawk's pilot. It worked for the Central for 59 years before its 1952 retirement - it survives on display at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. 999 is not an Alco but was built nearby in the Central's own shops at West Albany in 1893.
