Happy 4th of July!

D&H RS3m #1976 shunts cars around Bevier St yard Binghamton as obviously ex-LV GP38-2 7320 relaxes. It's July 1976 and the D&H has been busily operating an expanded system since the formation of Conrail in April 1976. RS3m, originally D&H RS3, was upgraded to 2000hp RS3m #506 by Morris-Knudsen in Q1 1976. D&H repainted and temporarily renumbered the unit to 1976 for the Bi-centennial (D&H #1776 was a Bi-centennial painted U23B).

Photographed by John Barlow, July, 1976.
Added to the photo archive by John Barlow, July 4, 2023.
