What is the name of the quarry? The rockhound in me is curious...

It's a private quarry in Wilton off of Rt 31. It's one of two back in the woods, the other also private and owned by another company. One road leads to both but access is denied due to private property. The other quarry has a siding holding an old Guilford gray and orange switcher due to be restored someday.

OK, I think I found it on Bing maps but I don't see the siding going into the next property, or a stored switcher. The entire area seems to have once had a lot of quarries/pits.

The switcher was moved there in October, 2019. I was there on a Sunday where all was quiet and drove around and found both pits. Also, I discovered many No Trespassing signs so I didn't hang around! The siding is up on the top of the hill on the left side, Straight ahead under the cool little stone arch is the M-B pit. I forgot the name of the road its off of.

The street is Stoney Brook Rd and turns into Quinn Rd where the pits are.

Oh HEY I was looking at the WRONG quarry! There are TWO in the area that are rail served, I didn’t see the actual siding on the other one!
