Empty Tanks Through Amsterdam, NYFriday morning was the first day in over a week without rain. As this west bound unit tank train rolls by what is left of the yard at Amsterdam, NY, a few things are noticeable. The controlled siding is full of empty well cars that have been sitting for quite a while. The pile of ties is what is left of the yard trackage which has all been torn up. And, there seems to be something extra on the nose of the lead Union Pacific loco motive.
