P&W Switching in Gardner

From Friday 1/27, while making the annual pilgrimage to West Springfield, my travels took me through Gardner. While an EDPO was also tied down with a leader in very tattered and worn paint.. (MEC 7517), Within a very short time, there was the sound of train horns from the south.. P&W arrived in Gardner.

Two matched G&W painted B39-8's were the power, 3904 and 3906. Both were former LMX units owned by GE, and leased to Burlington Northern. 3904 was LMX 8567, built Feb 1988.. 3906 was LMX 8550, built Dec 1987.

3904 was set off, while the crew took 3906 into the yard tracks. Didn't stick around to see what else happened, as an unsuccessful attempt was made to find a westbound 11R.
