I think the military still use the DC6, not bad for a 70-year-old aircraft. Our, NMCB-9, advance party returned to CONUS with a DC3 in '68. Only problem we lost radio contact somewhere over the Pacific.

A very loaded DC6B leaving San Juan for Madrid, using an awful lot of runway to get above the trees.
