On 12/22/23, I explored the newly opened Green Line extensions to Union Square Somerville and Medford/Tufts holding down the "railfan seat" on a rebuilt Type 7 car. As we head toward Medford/Tufts we pass an inbound E Line Type 8 headed to Heath St. Weekday non-rush hour headways are every 7 to 13 minutes. The quality of the track and station construction is superb. Out of sight to the right is MBTA's ex-B&M RoW to Lowell. As a senior, I paid all of $2.20 to ride these new lines from/to Woodland on the D Riverside - a good entertainment value for Boston!
