Amtrak HHP-8 speeding through Attleboro MA

The Bombardier HHP-8 electrics, cousins to the Acela power cars, spent only 10 years hauling NE Regional trains (#135 here) up and down the NE Corridor before they were retired in the 2014 as unreliable (and became subject of a $93M lawsuit between Amtrak and its lessor partners who sued for breach of contract that was to run to 2022). My then 14 year old son took this photo.

Photographed by Ethan Barlow, January 20, 2002.
Added to the photo archive by John Barlow, November 13, 2022.
