New London, CT is a true intermodal transportation center. Just across the tracks from the station, you can board a "water taxi" to Groton (across the river), or take a ferry to Long Island, Fisher's Island, or Block Island. Bus service and taxis are also available on the station side. And there's a nice pedestrian walkway that parallels much of the harbor.
