A while ago another railfan told me that AMTK only wore the name of David L. Gunn on 1 end. That end was apparently the legal 'Front' of the unit (note the 'F' near the end of the side frame in this photo). The name on this end appears considerably more worn than on the other end leading AMTK 175. Apparently someone at Amtrak also noticed the omission at the legal rear of the unit and decided to rectify the oversight, so the 600 honors the former Amtrak president (2002-2005) regardless of which end of the unit is leading.
