The Liberty Limited

The Liberty Limited was the best train on the Pennsylvania between Washington, DC and Chicago. Here in 1931 it is nearing Baltimore enroute to Chicago. Note the markers on the observation car behind the locomotive. The cars ran backwards between DC and Baltimore because of track alignment to get north to York. Photographer unknown. From the collection of Barrett Rudd, posted with permission.

Photographed by UNKNOWN, 1931.
