Westbound Lehigh Valley Freight Stopped at Sayre for a Crew ChangeLV 630 and LV 628 (C628's) sit in front of the Lehigh Valley depot in Sayre, on the the front of a westbound freight as railroaders go about their jobs on the adjacent platform. Photo was shot from the footbridge that crossed the Lehigh Valley for many years just west of the depot and provided a wonderful photo platform for many railfans. Train extends back under an earlier version of the W. Packer Ave. bridge shown in my previous photo.
This was my first visit ever to Sayre, as I recall; finding these 'Snowbirds' when they were still quite new made me eager to return to Sayre whenever the opportunity existed. Dating this 1966 is a best estimate; it might have been a year later.
