Bay Colony at Medfield Jct

For the first time in almost 3 years, Bay Colony Railroad picks up 8 loaded cement from the CSX interchange at Medfield Jct in Medfield, MA. These 8 loads were shipped from Dragon Cement at Thomaston. ME and billed to Tresca Brothers in Millis, MA. The cars would be brought a few miles down the Millis Branch and left for transloading. BCLR 1701 was built in 1953 for the Detroit & Toledo Shoreline as a GP7. After spending time on the Indiana Midland, the unit was purchased by Bay Colony in 1987 where a GP9 prime mover and generator were installed.
