BO-1 in Somerville

As the evening shadows creep up to the mainline, BO-1 wraps up their work day by shoving one loaded reefer Eastbound to the "Coke Works". The local is passing Milepost BE 2 on the MBTA's Eastern Route Mainline, and the load will be going to the customer within the New England Produce Center in Chelsea, MA. BO-1 is the last remaining Pan Am Railways local based in Boston, and works customers in Everett, Chelsea and Peabody.

Now that is very interesting since the Boston Market Terminal in the New England Produce Market, the only building where you could see reefers spotted in recent years, has been torn down! Where did this refer go? I guess someone else over there has started up rail service. Big surprise!

There are at least 5 customers at New England Produce that receive rail service, along with Lineage Logistics in Everett, MA. They were all previously CSX customers until November 2018 when the work was given to Pan Am.
