BNSF Train Crew Honoring an Old Tradition

One crew member (the conductor I assume) is down on the ground inspecting BN 7830's eastbound train while the engineer is out on the 'front porch' of BNSF 1117 (C44-9W). There was a time before hot box detectors and dragging equipment detectors when this inspection was a requirement when a train had to stop for a meet. With no caboose crew to signal on the rear of either train and frequent detector inspections, I doubt this happened nearly as often by 1997. It's good to see the old ways still had a place in this modern meet at Bazar, KS
