Olive Sub.

A Barstow-San Diego (National City) train has departed the Transcon at Atwood and is crossing the Santa Ana River and its huge flood plain. Ahead it will join the LA-San Diego route at Olive Junction in Orange. The river bridges are the "highlight" of a line, which is useful, but not known for its scenery.

Photographed by Ken Patton, August, 2002.
